What is the legal age for gambling? |
New Jersey State Law requires a person to be 21 years of age to gamble. Nobody below the age of 21 is permitted on the casino floors. |

Are there wedding chapels in Atlantic City? |
Currently Atlantic City does not have wedding chapels, but are many venues in and around Atlantic City that can accommodate wedding and civil union ceremonies. How long is the Boardwalk? |
The first Boardwalk opened on June 26, 1870 and was one mile long. It was designed by Jacob Keim and Alexander Boardman to keep the sand out of the tourist shoes. Today the Boardwalk extends just over 4 miles long. |

Are children permitted to attend casino shows? |
Many shows are suitable for children, but some do have adult content. Please check with each casino property for their policy regarding children. |

Does Atlantic City have bathhouses? |
There are no bathhouses in Atlantic City. There are outside showers located at Albany Avenue, South Carolina Avenue, and Virginia Avenue where bathers may rinse the sand off. |

Other than gambling there are plenty of things to see and do, with attractions, museums, shopping, recreation and more. Just a few examples are Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Museum, Atlantic City Art Museum, Atlantic City Historical Museum, Absecon Lighthouse, and Atlantic City Outlets – The Walk. |

What are the hotels closest to the Atlantic City Convention Center? |
The Sheraton Convention Center Hotel would be the closest hotel as it connects to the Atlantic City Convention Center. Trump Plaza, Caesars, and Bally’s Park Place Casino Hotels are all just a few short blocks from the Convention Center. |

Where can I park in Atlantic City and what is the cost? |

Is the Boardwalk open all year? |
Yes, the Boardwalk is open all year. Weather permitting, it is wonderful to stroll down the wooden way. Most of the restaurants and shops along the Boardwalk are open for you to enjoy, and of course our casinos never close. |

Where can I go shopping? |
Atlantic City offers a variety of shopping choices, including Atlantic City Outlets - The Walk, an upscale retail outlet center located between the Boardwalk and the Atlantic City Convention Center along Michigan Avenue. The Quarter at Tropicana , is another great place to shop offering a variety of stores, fine restaurants, nightclubs and an Imax Theater. The Pier Shops at Caesars features over seventy retail stores including Gucci, Armani, Tiffany & Co., Louis Vuitton, Burberry and more, all with a spectacular view “ The Show” an indoor light and sound extravaganza. Shopping is also available in the casino hotels, all along the Boardwalk, and in several areas just outside of Atlantic City. |

Atlantic City is considered to be a safe city. We urge visitors to take the same safety precautions that they would take in any large city and be aware of their surroundings. |

Is Atlantic City handicap accessible for the beaches, hotels, Boardwalk and restaurants? |
Atlantic City complies with state regulations regarding handicap services. As part of a recent beach replenishment project, about a dozen handicap ramps have been constructed to provide easy access from the Boardwalk to the beach. The Boardwalk itself has ramp access at street ends. Hotels, casinos, entertainment venues and restaurants have varying levels of handicap accessibility; it is best to contact them directly about their facilities. Each casino has its own promotional program and qualifications for providing freebies, or “comps ” as they are known here. Visit the promotions booth in the casino of your choice. They will be able to assist you. |

Atlantic City Historic Firsts |
- World’s first Boardwalk – opened in 1870
- Salt Water Taffy – originated in 1883 on the Boardwalk, according to local legend, after a storm flooded a candy store.
- Rolling Chairs – debuted in 1887. The chairs are now a permanent attraction for visitors and an excellent way to travel the Boardwalk.
- Monopoly – If the street names sound familiar and you’ve never been to Atlantic City, it’s because Charles Darrow developed the game of Monopoly in 1929 using the city’s streets.
- “Airport” – the word was first used in Atlantic City in reference to the city’s flying field.
- Miss America – The pageant originated in Atlantic City with first Miss America being crowned in 1921.
